translates to "Ruige River", a river that bursts it's banks frequently and feeds a
pleasure garden of plants, trees & vineyards

From this base you can explore the strange beauty and tranquillity of Namaqualand and the
unspoiled beaches of the West Coast. Tharrakamma was a winner of the AA Accommodation awards
in 2001 & 2002 for Self Catering Chalets.
In 2003, 2004 & 2005 Tharrakamma was taken up in the AA's Hall of Fame for Superior Accommodation.
In 2005 & 2006 Tharrakamma has been awarded "Superior 4star Accommodation"
B&B / Guesthouse with Self Catering.

When to visit...The Rittelfees in October is
popular with locals & visitors alike.
This music festival attracts large numbers of
local & international tourists and musicians.

Be sure to try the local fare, complimented
by wines from the region when visiting.

Visitors preferring a moderate climate
will love the cooler April/May season.



Trips can be organised to do the Olifants River Wine Route / Hiking Trails / Bushman Paintings / Ouberg Waterfalls / Horse Riding / Sight-seeing, well-known Namaqualand wildflowers
during August & September etc.
